Weddng-Wisdom Guide for Brides Wedding Rings hands PictureI have heard this, or a version of this said by the commissioners/pastors/JP's at almost all the weddings which I have organized. To me it seems to capture and eloquently describe the circle of life, love and commitment of a marriage.

‘THE RING’

A circle is the symbol of the sun and the earth and the universe, of wholeness and perfection, and peace and love. The ring is a circle that has no end so your love should have no end. The rings are made of gold symbolizing purity so should your marriage have purity.

The wedding ring is placed on the fourth finger of the left hand because it was traditionally believed that this finger was a direct connection to the heart - the perfect place for a symbol representing eternal love and commitment.
